海外博士面试都问些什么问题？

博士学位面试是博士研究生研究申请的重要组成部分。

因为这是申请者与未来的研究小组会面的机会，讨论申请者的项目，展示申请者作为学术研究者的潜力。同时，也是评估申请者潜力的时候。

今天小曼就给大家分享海外博士申请面试环节，内容以及提问频率最高的问题：

博士面试可以分为以下四个部分：

1.Interview question about yourself (关于申请者的问题)

2.Interview question about your PhD project（关于博士研究项目相关问题）

3.Interview question about the choice of university and groups （关于申请者为什么选这个这个学校/研究小组的问题）

4.Questions to ask at a PhD Interview （申请者提问环节）

将四个部分拆分如下：

1.Interview question about yourself 

申请者作为学生、团队成员，其个人素质是大学决定接受申请者攻读博士学位的最重要因素。不管你的学科领域是什么，你都需要成为一个能够全身心投入到一个三年项目中的人。作为一名PhD，科研能力，团队协作，是比成绩更重要的。

以下问题是这个部分PhD申请时候需要准备的问题，相关问题大家可以自己好好准备：

• Tell us about yourself…

• What made you choose to do a PhD?

• What do you plan to do after you complete your PhD?

• What are your strengths and weaknesses?

• Are there any training needs you can identify ahead of your PhD?

 2.Interview question about your PhD project 

这是大学进一步评估申请者是否适合相应博士职位的机会，也是评估申请者研究计划与现有专业知识之间的匹配程度。对于获得资助的学位（或其他竞争性项目），这是申请者真正证明自己是该博士学位的最佳人选的时候。回答这些问题时，最好参考申请者已经准备好的研究计划。

关于这个部分可能提出的问题，参考如下：

• Why this project?

• What makes you the right candidate for this PhD?

• What difficulties do you expect to encounter during this project?

• What would you like the impact of this project to be?

• How will you fund this project?

 3.Interview question about the choice of university and groups 

一般情况，申请者的面试小组会有兴趣知道申请者为什么选择他们的大学攻读博士学位。如果申请者提出自己的研究项目，申请者会被问及研究目标与将进入的研究小组的研究领域之间的匹配程度。准备这类问题其实很容易。了解你未来的大学和导师。表明你了解他们所做的工作，并举例说明。

此外，以下列举了两个需要重点准备的问题，问题大家可以自己想想怎么回答：

• Why have you chosen to study a PhD at this university?

• What can you bring to this research group?

 4.Questions to ask at a PhD Interview 

面试是一个双向互动的过程，因此，除了老师问申请者问题，申请者的博士面试可能会以邀请你向专家组提出你自己的问题而结束。面试的这一部分和申请者已经给出的答案一样重要，表明了申请者对所申请的项目给予了认真的考虑。

以下是申请者在博士面试时可以考虑问的好问题：

• What will the supervision arrangements be for the project?

• What kind of training and skills sessions are offered as part of the PhD programme?

• Will I have opportunities to teach / present / publish?

• How many other PhD students has this supervisor seen to completion?

• Are there likely to be any changes to the funding arrangements for the project?

• Is the university or department likely to run any events or other associated projects during the period of my PhD?
