Cambridge University|Department of Engineering
截止日期:Tuesday, May 16, 2023
资助的博士项目(英国,欧盟,国际学生)
项目描述
The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment: Resilience in a Changing World (FIBE2 CDT) welcomes applications for four-year MRes+PhD studentships for admission on October 2023. The studentships are fully-funded (fees and maintenance) for eligible UK students and includes a Research Training Support Grant (RTSG) for secondments, conferences, project-specific consumables, travel to engage with industry partners and travel to attend professional institution events. Limited places are available for EU and international students for home-level fees and maintenance.
Please see a selection of available studentships with academic as well as industry supervisors below. Find more on fibe-cdt.eng.cam.ac.uk/. Deadlines for applications are 16th May 2023. Early application is strongly encouraged as places are limited.

This is a four-year (1+3 MRes/PhD) studentship funded through the Cambridge EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment: Resilience in a Changing World (FIBE2 CDT). The FIBE2 CDT aims to develop the next generation of infrastructure professionals who can create, shape and deliver the national vision for UK infrastructure, who will be equipped with a versatile and cross-disciplinary skill set to meet the most complex emerging challenges and contribute effectively to better infrastructure decision-making in the UK.
The CDT’s research and training activities capitalise on Cambridge's internationally recognised strengths across the engineering and sciences disciplines as well as wider university collaborations for underpinning theoretical and experimental knowledge for resilient infrastructure.
Atomistic Computer Modelling of New Solar Cell Materials
University of Oxford|Department of Materials
导师: Prof Saiful Islam
截止日期:Friday, January 20, 2023
资助的博士项目(全球学生)
项目描述
A fully-funded DPhil Studentship is available to work on an exciting project on new perovskite solar cell materials using state-of-the-art computational techniques in the research group of Professor Saiful Islam at the University of Oxford.
Metal halide perovskites are generating enormous excitement for their use in low-cost and high-performance solar cell devices. These materials are based on the prototype compound methylammonium lead iodide (termed MAPI), and have shown an unprecedented rise in power conversion efficiencies from 3% to more than 25% within 10 years.
The DPhil project will use atomistic modelling techniques (DFT and molecular dynamics) to investigate the structural, electronic, ion migration and surface properties of perovskite solar cell materials; these systems include lead-iodide compounds, as well as novel tin-based and 2D halide perovskites.
This project will also have links to complementary experimental studies in the research groups of Professors Henry Snaith and Laura Herz (both in Oxford Physics) and to technological research at Oxford-PV.

The studentship is tenable from October 2023 and candidates should have (or expect to obtain) a good honours degree in Chemistry, Materials, Physics or related discipline – please see our DPhil in Materials Entry Requirements for further information. Previous experience in computational modelling would be an advantage, but not essential.
This EPSRC-funded 3.5 year DPhil in Materials DTP studentship will provide course fees and a stipend of at least £17,668 per year (pro-rata for the final six-months).
For informal discussions about the project please contact Prof Saiful Islam by email to saiful.islam@materials.ox.ac.uk.
