Your Role:
Conduct highly innovative research in the field of cybersecurity and online privacy on a project entitled “Modelling and assessment of online deception”. Your main objective consists in elaborating a functional characterization of manipulative and deceptive attempts in digital services (i.e., dark patterns), through the design of formal models of trust and untrustworthiness, and the development of tools for the automatic detection and classification of dark patterns in online interactions
Collaborate with researchers of various disciplines, as the project explores online manipulation through an interdisciplinary approach combining computer science, human-centred design, engineering, law and ethics
Publish research results and present them at international conferences
Contribute to reports and research publications
Engage in dissemination of results to stakeholders
Write a cumulative PhD thesis
Your Profile:
Master’s degree in Computer Science
Ability to formalize problems and to reason computationally
Familiarity with formal methods of analysis, data science, and machine learning
Strong interest in interdisciplinary research
Interest in cybersecurity and data privacy, including their legal and ethical aspects
Proficiency in English (oral and written)
Good academic writing and excellent communication skills
Inquisitive and critical mind, collaborative attitude
Ability to work independently and to organize your work
Scientific integrity and ethical code of conduct
